FTCA Redeeming Application…Don’t Wait!

As we mentioned in a previous RegLantern blog post, there have been a few significant changes to the FTCA application. We are hearing of application efforts taking significantly longer than expected due to the new requirement of manually entering the credentialing and privileging information.

According to HRSA PAL 2022-01, the redeeming application must be submitted by “Friday, July 8, 2022, in order to be eligible to be deemed during CY 2022 without a gap in coverage. Eligible entities that do not submit a redeeming application by the deadline may experience a gap in FTCA coverage and may wish to consider purchasing private malpractice liability insurance for CY 2023.”

Our recommendation is to aim to submit your health center’s FTCA redeeming application by no later than Thursday, July 7, 2022 (preferably earlier) to ensure you have plenty of time to address any issues that may arise along the way.

For additional information and resources, please visit the FTCA webpage. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the HRSA/FTCA help desk (Email: BPHCFTCASiteVisit@hrsa.gov, Phone: 877-464-4772, option 1.
